Nutrition as basis of Wellness

With sooo much information available today on what to eat (or not ), when to eat it (or not ), it's become increasingly difficult for many people to make a simple decision about personal meal planning. For simplicity, let's discuss basic food functions:

Carbs = Energy
Protein = Growth & Repair

Simple carbs (fruit and candy) and complex carbs (vegetables and whole grains) are both broken down in the digestive system into single-sugar molecules. Simple carbohydrates consist of one to two linked sugar molecules, and are very easily converted to sugar (energy) by the body. Complex carbohydrates consist of three or more linked sugar molecules, and therefore require more time/effort by the body to convert these foods into energy. Protein sources include chicken, turkey, fish, meat, eggs, tofu, etc. Choose the leanest, drug-free (hormones, antibiotics, steroids, etc) sources whenever possible. These foods contain essential amino acids, the "building blocks" of lean tissue (muscle).

Happines. What is it?

Several years ago, I had the privilege of hearing Dr. Norman Vincent Peale speak on the topic of his book, "The Power of Positive Thinking." Although some of the ideas are rather simplistic, I have found through the years that his method to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts really works! When I am in a grumpy mood, I place a rubber band around my wrist, and when a negative thought enters my mind, I snap my wrist and replace the thought with a positive event. Within a short time, my mood has improved and I am a much happier person to be around. Although you have to use some discretion, it helps to smile warmly at people you meet in the grocery store, the library, or at the mall. You will feel better and they will wonder what you are up to!

Nano Wellness

4life has done extensive research on nano technology for their transfer factor which now include their patented tri-factor formula which combines the most effective and powerful immune system booster on the planet that not only levels up the immune system's killer cells to unprecedented levels to match up to those malign cells of cancer and similar diseases; transfer factor tri-factor formula actually shines by achieving a perfectly well-balanced immune system that when you no longer need those massive amounts of killer cells active, they will simply rest. Nano technology has proven to achieve a more responsive immune system based on the treat level of the intruder. If it is a simple allergen-molecules causing allergies- it will react just in the correct amount to control it without over-reacting.

Allergies are just an over-reaction of our immune system, causing us to sneeze to spit it out and mucus to avoid getting any further. Nano technology it is definitely breath-taking technology which has been discovered to have been part of our very own immune system since the day you were born, nursing milk from our mother who transfered to us the very first "Transfer Factor" molecules with nano factor containing the vital information that would lead us to maintain a healthier and stronger immune system.

In today’s world, with industrial toxins, genetically engineered foods, reduced ozone and mineral depletion in our soils, cell phones, blackberries, new adjuncts to our ever-expanding technologically dominated world, there are myriad sources of distraction and as a result, increased stress.

We need to engage in exercise that combines both yang (hot) and yin (cool) in order to balance and harmonize the body’s energy systems providing a powerful antidote to today’s modern world and it’s ills. Some of my very favorite mind-body exercise techniques like Yoga (specifically Yin yoga) and "Waking Energy" (more about Waking Energy in my next blog!) involve deep breathing and total mind-body intention, leading to an ever- deepening awareness of our inner landscape, helping us to return to a more natural rhythm, helping us to slow down and COOL off.
